The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to a dog attack on Heather Hill Road in Bethesda on Wednesday, December 18, where two dogs attacked and killed a victim dog, injured two women intervening, and one attacking dog was shot by officers after charging at them.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 10:35 a.m., Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District officers responded to the 7000 block of Heather Hill Road for a report of a dog attack.
Two dogs charged at a victim dog that was with its owner, an adult female. One of the dogs left the scene, while the other continued attacking the victim dog, killing it.
During the attack, two adult females sustained non-life-threatening injuries while trying to intervene. Both were transported to an area hospital. Responding officers shot and killed the attacking dog as it charged at the officers.
The attacking dogs are reported to live in the neighborhood. It is unclear if their owner was present at the time of the incident.”
