Dave Portnoy Visits Maryland Pizzeria; Offers $60,000 to Keep Restaurant Open

Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, is known for his “One Bite” pizza reviews, where he rates slices on a 1-10 scale after sampling pizza from restaurants nationwide. Though most reviews focus on Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey, Dave recently visited TinyBrickOven at 1036 Light Street in Baltimore.

TinyBrickOven, scheduled to close on December 25, 2024, cited its inability to secure a liquor license as the primary reason for closure. According to its website, “Our business is at risk of closing, not by our choice, but because Senator Bill Ferguson and Delegate Luke Clippinger have denied our liquor license, while nearby businesses have received theirs. Despite our best efforts, their decision could mean the end for us, even though they have the legal authority to assist.”

During his visit, Dave asked owner Will Fagg how much it would cost to keep the restaurant open for another year. The answer—approximately $60,000, prompted Dave to offer the full amount as a donation. TinyBrickOven received a 7.9 rating for its pizza. Watch the full video below.
