Wind Advisory Issued for January 1, 2025

Alert Montgomery issued the following on Tuesday, December 31: “A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Wednesday, 1/1. Expect wind gusts greater than 40 mph. Wind gusts of this magnitude will make driving high profile vehicle difficult, and cause loose outdoor objects to be blown around. Secure loose outdoor objects to prevent property damage.”

Per the National Weather Service:
.WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY…

* WHAT…West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts around 50 mph.

* WHERE…Portions of DC, central, north central, northeast,
northern, and western Maryland, central, northern, northwest, and
western Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia.

* WHEN…From 7 AM to 7 PM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few sporadic power outages may
result. Highest gusts will likely occur late Wednesday morning
through Wednesday mid-afternoon.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
