Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire at a three-story townhouse on Skip Jack Drive in Germantown, on Tuesday, December 31.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was caused by a space heater placed too close to combustibles or an overheating cord, resulting in approximately $13,000 in damage.
Three adults and their pets were displaced; two dogs were rescued, with one revived by firefighters, but unfortunately, a third dog did not survive. No occupants were injured.
.@mcfrs crews made great efforts to successfully revive 1 dog while the other dog was being given oxygen by mask. Fortunately, all occupants got out, and none were injured. Tragically, 1 of the 3 dogs did not survive. @DavidPazos15 @mcfrsPIO https://t.co/vOr6w4WdjR pic.twitter.com/YYTbHZcdfD
