Last month, Big Lots began going-out-of-business sales at all 900+ locations. The company has just announced that it will no longer accept Big Lots gift cards after January 16th. In an email to customers, Big Lots stated:
“We sincerely thank you for shopping at Big Lots. As you may know, our stores are currently undergoing liquidation. As a result, we will no longer be able to accept Big Lots gift cards after January 16th.”
On January 3, Big Lots, Inc. announced the completion of a sale agreement with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, enabling Variety Wholesalers to acquire up to 400 Big Lots stores and two distribution centers. The agreement aims to preserve jobs, maintain the Big Lots brand, and combine the strengths of both companies to better serve customers and communities.
It is unclear at this time which stores will remain open or reopen in the future.
