UPDATE: All lanes are now open.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has closed Shady Grove Road in both directions at Corporate Boulevard, Key West Avenue, and Research Boulevard on Friday morning due to an ongoing death investigation.
According to MCPD, at approximately 3:16 a.m. on Friday, January 17, a 1st District officer discovered a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Shady Grove Road and Research Boulevard.
Upon further investigation, officers found a deceased individual inside the vehicle.
The body will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
