The U.S. Secret Service has announced that President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony will be moved indoors to the Capitol Rotunda due to expected inclement weather, with temperatures forecasted to be around 20 degrees.
In preparation, the U.S. Secret Service, in coordination with federal, state, and local partners, as well as the Presidential Inaugural Committee and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, is adapting security plans to address the weather conditions and direct people to visit www.inauguration.dc.gov for the latest updates.
Chief of Communications for the U.S. Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, stated:
“The U.S. Secret Service and our federal, state, and local partners are working in close coordination with the Presidential Inaugural Committee and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies to adapt our security plans as needed due to the expected inclement weather during Monday’s Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. Updated information on road closures, parking restrictions, and other public impacts will be provided on inauguration.dc.gov as soon as they are available.”
