Two juveniles were arrested on Monday afternoon after attempting to rob a victim in a Silver Spring parking garage, with officers apprehending them following a foot pursuit and charging them before releasing them to their parents.
District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos wrote, “On Monday 1/20/25 at around 3PM your @mcpnews 3rd District officers were alerted by a community member about an attempted robbery that just occurred inside of the parking garage on Roeder Road near Fenton Street. The suspects attempted to rob the victim of their jacket.
Central Business District (CBD) team officers spotted the suspects running away from the location and chased after them. After an icy foot pursuit, both suspects were safely apprehended.
Video evidence (camera footage) was found by the @mcpnews Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC).
This is another incident where one juvenile suspect was already wearing an ankle monitor for a prior felony crime. Both juveniles were charged and released to their parents.”
