Local Restaurants to Close in Solidarity with One Day Without Immigrants

Several local restaurants, including La Casita Pupusería, Tacos El Pariente, and Centrado Café Shop, have announced they will be closed on Monday, February 3, in support of the One Day Without Immigrants movement. (Additional restaurants listed below)

La Casita, which operates locations in Gaithersburg and Silver Spring, emphasized the vital contributions of the Latino community to both its business and the country. The restaurant expressed gratitude for its customers’ support and looks forward to reopening on Tuesday with renewed energy and its signature flavors.

Tacos El Pariente, which runs food trucks in Germantown and Olney and has a brick-and-mortar location in Gaithersburg, will also be closed Monday. In a social media post, the restaurant voiced its support for the immigrant community and their efforts to build a better future. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, February 4.

Centrado Café Shop, located at 15530 Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville and owned by the same team as La Casita, will also be closed on Monday in solidarity with the movement.
