Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a large brush fire on Beallsville Road in Dickerson, which involved several acres of woods, logs, and stumps.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, crews successfully contained the fire and worked to extinguish remaining hot spots. The fire was caused by fallen power lines. While no injuries were reported, “a few deer, racoons, squirrels woodchucks maybe a turtle or two, may be displaced”
