Big Lots at 19142 Montgomery Village Ave has permanently closed. The other Montgomery County location, in Germantown, closed permanently back in December.
In December, Big Lots announced it would be closing all 900+ of its locations. Then, in January, the company announced the completion of a sale agreement with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, enabling Variety Wholesalers to acquire up to 400 Big Lots stores and two distribution centers. The agreement aims to preserve jobs, maintain the Big Lots brand, and combine the strengths of both companies to better serve customers and communities.
It is unclear at this time which stores will reopen, but it’s not expected that stores in Maryland will return.
