Strawberry Festival Returns This Summer

After skipping the event in 2024, the Sandy Spring Museum (17901 Bentley Road) has announced that its annual Strawberry Festival will return on Saturday, June 7. The museum began hosting the event back in 1981.

The Strawberry Festival is described as a giant block party, picnic, neighborhood gathering, and community celebration all rolled into two days of outdoor, family-friendly fun, featuring live music, food truck’s, and the “world’s greatest strawberry shortcake.”

A new festival! By popular demand, the Strawberry Festival will be going back to its roots this year offering a more community-focused festival that still features your favorite treats and activities such as…

Local food vendors, strawberry drinks, a petting zoo, a huge plant sale, fresh strawberry shortcake, craft vendors, live entertainment from two stages (a main stage for professional performers and the community stage for performers who are 18 and younger), and hands-on activities that include crafts and activities representing Montgomery County’s diverse cultural heritage.

We’re also bringing back the popular bake table and strawberry shortcake eating contest! Visitors are welcome to bring lunch and a blanket so you can enjoy your own picnic on the lawn.

This family-friendly festival has something for every age. But the fun is limited to humans – please leave your pets at home.

To help alleviate the parking problems and overcrowding that occurred in previous years, this year’s attendance will be limited to 5000 total. Be sure to get your tickets early so you are not disappointed!
