Sisters Sandwiches & Such, a local sandwich shop known for its Olney location at 16834 Georgia Avenue that opened in 2010, has expanded with a new location at 4520 East West Highway in Bethesda, taking over the former Perfect Pita space.
Menu highlights include The Great Albert Reuben (hot pastrami, homemade sauerkraut, Swiss cheese on toasted marble rye with Russian dressing), Jacked Up Roast Beef (rare roast beef, provolone, tomato, onion, horseradish mayo on a baguette), The Smasher (roasted turkey, bacon, provolone, lettuce, BBQ chips, BBQ ranch and mayo on multigrain), and the Stacked Stacie (roasted turkey, avocado, lettuce, red onion, spicy mustard, and lemon basil vinaigrette on multigrain).
The original Olney shop is located in the historic Higgins Tavern, a former 1820s trading post along the Georgetown-to-Brookville Road, and has become a neighborhood mainstay with strong customer ratings—4.7 stars on Google and 4.2 on Yelp. A second location opened in Germantown at 20201 Century Blvd. Suite 150, near Top Golf and Señor Tequila’s.
