12-year-old Aiden Abraham, representing the State of Maryland and Team Senshi, earned a gold medal in kumite and a silver medal in kata at the 2025 Junior International Cup & USA Open in Las Vegas, competing against 22 athletes in his category.
The USA Open Karate Championships is one of the premier international karate tournaments in the United States. The 2025 event took place from April 17 to April 20 at the Horseshoe Las Vegas Hotel and Casino and featured both the USA Open and the Junior International Cup (JIC). Organized by USA Karate, the national governing body for the sport, the tournament draws elite athletes from around the world, including national team members, junior competitors, and top-level referees. The competition includes a wide range of divisions for youth and adult participants, featuring events in both kata (forms) and kumite (sparring).
Aiden is a student at Senshi Karate Do in Montgomery Village.
