Bethesda resident and renowned chef José Andrés is set to co-host a new NBC cooking competition series titled Yes, Chef! alongside Martha Stewart. The show brings together 12 professional chefs that struggle with personal problems, each nominated by peers or loved ones for their culinary talent.
According to NBC, rather than celebrating the traditional image of the hot-tempered kitchen leader, Yes, Chef! aims to challenge that narrative. The series will judge contestants not only on their cooking skills but also on their ability to collaborate, manage pressure, and maintain composure in high-stress environments. With $250,000 at stake, the competition promises high culinary stakes and a focus on emotional intelligence and leadership.
Andrés is widely recognized for his humanitarian work through World Central Kitchen and his influential culinary career, including his previous Bethesda restaurants Jaleo and Spanish Diner.
