Donald Amechi C. Igwebuike Jr., 23, of Silver Spring, and Dawda Kairaba Jawara, 25, of Columbia, were arrested on May 29 after Anne Arundel County Police recovered two loaded handguns, drugs, and over $2,000 during a traffic stop on Fort Smallwood Road.
Per the Anne Arundel County Police: “On May 29, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a black Lexus in the 7400 block of Fort Smallwood Road. During the stop, officers observed suspected controlled dangerous substances in plain view inside the vehicle. As officers detained the driver and front seat passenger, the driver was found to be in possession of a loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun. A second handgun, a 10mm Glock, was located on the front passenger floorboard. Officers recovered approximately 23 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 186 grams of suspected codeine, one suspected alprazolam pill, and nine individually packaged THC vape pens. Also seized was $2,016.00 in U.S. currency and a second loaded magazine found on the driver’s person. Both suspects were arrested and charged without incident.
On May 24, 2025, at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Hilltop Road near Overhill Road in Glen Burnie. Officers arrived and observed several individuals occupying a 2021 Acura sedan. As officers approached the vehicle, four subjects fled. However, two remained. Officers observed a handgun on the floorboard of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 260 grams of suspected marijuana packaged for sale, a digital scale, a loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun, and a loaded .40 caliber Taurus handgun. Two suspects, both of whom are prohibited from possessing firearms, were arrested and charged. The identity of the outstanding suspects is under investigation.
