FIFA has announced that four locations in the DMV area will serve as team base camps for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, including Bethesda’s Landon School, where Moroccan club Wydad AC will train.
Other training sites include Episcopal High School in Alexandria (Al Ain FC), DC United’s facilities in Leesburg (Al Hilal), and Greenbriar Sports Performance Center in West Virginia (Juventus). All four teams will play at Audi Field, which will host three matches on June 18, 22, and 26.
Per FIFA: “As the countdown to the inaugural FIFA Club World CupTM continues, FIFA has confirmed the 34 FIFA Club World Cup Team Base Camp Training Sites that the 32 qualified clubs will utilize throughout the group stage of the competition. From Florida to Washington, New Jersey to California and beyond, the 32 participating clubs hailing from 20 different nations have selected sites in 14 states across the country, ensuring that the impact of the highly anticipated competition resonates in communities both in and out of the cities where the tournament’s 63 matches will be staged.
“We’re pleased to confirm the Team Base Camp Training Sites that will host qualified clubs throughout the group stage of the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup,” said FIFA Secretary General, Mattias Grafström. “These sites and more significantly the people and communities that surround them will welcome the world’s best, providing first-class environments and hospitality in support of the teams.”
