Sharetea, a bubble tea café located at 13012 Middlebrook Road in Germantown Commons, has permanently closed.
In a message posted on social media, Sharetea thanked customers for their support over the years and announced that a new boba café offering desserts is expected to open in its place.
The international bubble tea brand, founded in Taiwan in 1992, opened its Germantown location in 2022. Gift cards and loyalty points will be honored at the DC Chinatown location through September 1, 2025.
With heartfelt gratitude, we want to let you know that we are closed. Thank you for all the love, smiles, and support you’ve shared with us over the years—you’ve truly been the sweetest part of our journey. But this isn’t goodbye! Our DC Chinatown location is still open and will happily honor any gift card purchased here through September 1, 2025. And don’t worry—all your loyalty points can still be used there, with no expiration.
One last treat: a new boba café serving desserts is on the way—we hope it brings you as much joy as you’ve given us.
