Maryland Casinos Bring in $176.4M in May, Marking Seventh-Best Month on Record

Maryland’s six casinos generated $176.4 million in gaming revenue in May 2025, a 1.9% increase from the same month last year, marking the state’s seventh-best month on record. Casino contributions to the state totaled $76.1 million, including $54.9 million for the Education Trust Fund, with most individual casinos reporting year-over-year gains.

Per Maryland Lottery and Gaming: “Maryland’s six casinos combined for their seventh-best month in May 2025, generating $176,447,080 in revenue from slot machines and table games. The statewide total was up $3,294,119 (1.9%) from May 2024. Casino gaming contributions to the state during May 2025 totaled $76,105,267, an increase of $1,656,020 (2.2%) compared to May 2024. The May 2025 contributions included $54,867,340 to the Education Trust Fund, an increase of $1,204,012 (2.2%) compared to May 2024.

Casino gaming revenues also support the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.

Maryland’s six privately owned casinos offer both slot machines and table games: MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County; Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County; Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City; Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County; Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County; and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.

The gaming revenue totals for May 2025 were as follows:

MGM National Harbor (2,273 slot machines, 211 table games)
$75,372,227 in May 2025, an increase of $3,104,752 (4.3%) from May 2024

 Live! Casino & Hotel (3,837 slot machines, 179 table games)
$63,852,257 in May 2025, a decrease of $1,180,633 (-1.8%) from May 2024

Horseshoe Casino (1,361 slot machines, 115 table games)
$15,223,445 in May 2025, an increase of $500,435 (3.4%) from May 2024

Hollywood Casino (735 slot machines, 23 table games)
$8,303,655 in May 2025, an increase of $496,700 (6.4%) from May 2024

Ocean Downs Casino (890 slot machines, 19 table games)
$8,766,177 in May 2025, an increase of $414,309 (5.0%) from May 2024

Rocky Gap Casino (638 slot machines, 12 table games)
$4,929,318 in May 2025, a decrease of $41,445 (-0.8%) from May 2024
