Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a townhouse fire in the 13100 block of Diamond Hill Court, off Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown, on Sunday afternoon. The fire originated from a malfunctioning exterior air conditioning unit and spread up the vinyl siding into the second floor and roof of the end-of-row two-story townhouse.

Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the scene amid temperatures near 95°F. According to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer, all occupants safely evacuated, no injuries were reported, and one person was displaced due to the incident. The fire caused slight to moderate damage to the structure. Visible fire was knocked down, and crews conducted overhaul operations to check for any remaining hotspots or fire extension.
