Donutchew, a mochi donut shop, has closed its Montgomery Mall location in Bethesda.
The shop debuted as a “pop-up” on the lower level in November 2023, later moving to a kiosk in the food court before taking over the former Adonni’s Desserts space next to Macy’s. Its menu included mochi donuts, croffles (a croissant–waffle hybrid), macarons, bubble tea, and more.
Donutchew continues to operate its Montgomery County location at Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront, which opened in 2022. Known for their dense, chewy texture made from glutinous rice flour, the mochi donuts were shaped in the signature pon de ring style and offered in a variety of glaze flavors.
