Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded around 11:10 a.m. to a house fire in the 4800 block of Broad Brook Drive in Bethesda.
According to MCFRS spokesperson David Pazos, crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from the living room and garage of a one-story ranch-style home, with neighbors reporting that someone might still be inside. Firefighters quickly began a search and located an unconscious elderly man, who was removed from the home, treated, and transported to the hospital in serious, life-threatening condition. The fire was brought under control shortly after.
We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
