11:30am Update: The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has released additional information regarding a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the intersection of Frederick Road and Ridge Road in Germantown.
According to MCPS, “At approximately 7:35 a.m., Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a black 2022 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on Frederick Road when the driver struck an adult male pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Corolla remained on scene.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this fatality. A news release will be distributed once more details are available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.”
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fatal pedestrian collision on Route 355 between Ridge Road and Henderson Corner in Germantown around 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20.
An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene, and both northbound and southbound lanes remain closed. The driver of the striking vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating with authorities.
