Maman Joon, a restaurant specializing in Persian cuisine, is coming to Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. It will occupy the space formerly home to Brio’s Chicken and Tara Thai.
The menu features a variety of kabobs, sandwiches, soups, salads, platters, desserts, and other Persian specialties. The chain, which opened a location alongside its sister restaurant Z-Burger at 18100 Georgia Avenue in Olney in 2023, is also preparing to open another location at 15780 Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg, in the former Pieology Pizzeria space at the 270 Center.
According to Maman Joon, their recipes are built on family traditions, using fresh ingredients and authentic spices sourced from Iran to deliver an experience rooted in Persian heritage. The restaurant’s name translates to “Dear Mom,” reflecting its focus on hospitality and heartfelt cooking.
