Montgomery County’s Department of Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) will open its “upgraded retail concept,” Oak Barrel & Vine, at Westfield Wheaton Mall (11160 Veirs Mill Rd.) on Thursday, September 25.
The new store will occupy space on the upper level of the mall’s Costco wing. According to ABS, Oak Barrel & Vine stores feature a curated selection of spirits and locally made products, an expanded range of small-format items, a dedicated non-alcoholic section, streamlined checkout with queue lines, wayfinding signage, and improved accessibility.
Elsewhere at Wheaton Mall, construction continues on a new Burger King at the former McDonald’s site, with Five Guys and Wetzel’s Pretzels also expected to open later this year.
Last month, it was announced that another Oak Barrel & Vine will open at North Pointe at Flower Hill in Gaithersburg (18251 Flower Hill Way), part of a new 16,000-square-foot retail and restaurant center.
