Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a deck fire around 5 p.m. on Gallop Terrace in Germantown.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, firefighters quickly extinguishing the blaze that investigators say originated from a failed battery in a solar light. No one was home and the fire did not extend to the house. A neighbor reported hearing several explosions before calling 911.
