The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has released additional information regarding a fatal collision that occurred on Beach Drive between Rockville Pike and Knowles Ave. in Kensington. The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Abraham Michael Ehlers of Bethesda.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 6:05 p.m., on Monday, September 16, 2025, 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for a single-vehicle collision. The investigation has revealed that for reasons still unknown at this time, Ehlers was riding a black 2006 Suzuki DR-Z400 motorcycle at the location when he lost control and went into the wood line. Ehlers was pronounced dead on scene.
This is an active and ongoing investigation, and CRU detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call (240) 773-6620.”
