The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced it has increased police presence throughout the county as a precaution following a mass shooting at a church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Sunday, September 28, that left four people dead and eight others injured.
Officials said there is no known local threat at this time but encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
MCPD Chief of Police Marc R. Yamada issued the following statement on Monday morning:
MCPD is aware of the mass shooting in Grand Blanc, MI.
Our thoughts are with the victims, families & community.
As a precaution, police presence is increased in Montgomery County. No known local threat.
