Increased Police Presence in Montgomery County Following Mass Shooting in Michigan

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced it has increased police presence throughout the county as a precaution following a mass shooting at a church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Sunday, September 28, that left four people dead and eight others injured.

Officials said there is no known local threat at this time but encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.

MCPD Chief of Police Marc R.  Yamada issued the following statement on Monday morning:

The Montgomery County Department of Police is aware of the mass shooting in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the community.

As a precaution, MCPD has increased police presence throughout Montgomery County. At this time, there is no known threat to our community.

We encourage residents to remain vigilant and report anything unusual. If you see something that doesn’t seem right, say something.
