Marriott International and the Foundation for Hospitality and Restaurant Management partnered to provide eight Montgomery County Public Schools hospitality and restaurant management teachers with hands-on professional learning at Marriott’s International Corporate Test Kitchen.
The experience, led by Marriott’s culinary leadership, connected educators with industry innovation, research, and trends to help strengthen culinary education and workforce development in the county.
According the MCPS Foundations Office, “Led by Chef Stephen Toevs, Vice President of Culinary and Global Operations for Marriott International, the experience offered educators a behind-the-scenes look at how innovation, research, and development drive Marriott’s global food and beverage programs. Participants explored the Test Kitchen’s advanced design and equipment, engaged in culinary demonstrations, and discussed emerging industry trends influencing both local and international hospitality sectors.
David Child, FHRM President and General Manager of the North Bethesda Marriott, shared:
“Marriott was thrilled to offer this one-of-a-kind professional development opportunity for MCPS educators. These teachers are shaping the next generation of culinary professionals, and by immersing them in Marriott’s Test Kitchen, we’re helping connect classroom learning with real-world innovation. My hope is that this experience inspires new creativity and collaboration in culinary education across Montgomery County.”
