Gaithersburg Deli Faces Closure One Year After Opening, Fundraiser Started

A Go Fund Me has been started to support Our Neighborhood Deli, located at 240 Main Street in Gaithersburg, as it faces the possibility of closing just one year after opening.

The restaurant occupies the space formerly home to Kentlands Nutrition, which operated there for 15 years before closing.  According to the campaign, community members and local business owners are rallying to help the deli remain open and fundraiser seeks to raise $19,500 to cover past-due rent and additional funds for renovations, marketing, and operating expenses.

The deli, owned by Gina Goldring, has become known for its wide-ranging menu that includes freshly made sandwiches, New York–style hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches, create-your-own salads, knishes, muffins, cookies, cake slices, and soft serve ice cream.

Supporters are also volunteering services to revitalize the deli, including repainting, furniture sponsorships, branding updates, and the creation of new dining and meeting spaces to strengthen its role as a community hub. Donations will help Goldring keep staff employed, cover ongoing expenses, and continue serving customers who have embraced the deli as a neighborhood gathering spot.
