Updated at 5pm: A child riding a bicycle was killed Thursday afternoon in a collision involving a Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) bus, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
Police and MCPS said in a briefing Thursday evening that the child was 11 years old.
MCPD 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded at 3:12 p.m. to the crash at Russett Road and Bauer Drive in Rockville. Children were on board the bus, but no injuries were reported among passengers.
