Spirit Halloween is now open at 1683 Rockville Pike in Congressional Plaza, in the space formerly occupied by Buy Buy Baby.
According to a representative at the location, the store’s opening was delayed due to its final fire department inspection and product shipment setbacks caused by tariffs.
Over the summer, Spirit Halloween opened additional Montgomery County locations at 30 Grand Corner Avenue at Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront and in the former Party City space at Westfield Wheaton (11160 Veirs Mill Rd). Spirit Halloween stores typically open in late August or early September, providing a seasonal shopping experience for costumes, decorations, animatronics, makeup, and accessories. The company runs more than 1,400 locations across North America each season, while its website remains open year-round to offer its full range of products online.
Last week we reported that Spirit has announced it will expand its Spirit Christmas concept from 10 to 30 stores nationwide. One of the new locations will open this November at the former DSW Shoes site at 3009 Waldorf Market Place in Waldorf, MD. The store is currently operating as a Spirit Halloween. Launched in 2024, Spirit Christmas is a seasonal pop-up concept by Spirit Halloween that offers holiday décor, apparel, decorations, interactive displays, and photo opportunities with Santa Claus.
