Last year, we shared that Sense of Thai announced plans to expand into Maryland with a new restaurant at Westbard Square in Bethesda. After construction began in July, permanent signage is now up at 5314 Zenith Overlook
Sense of Thai opened its first location in Ashburn, VA in 2015 and recently debuted a second location in Chantilly, VA. The restaurant offers authentic Southern Thai cuisine with a modern, upscale atmosphere and craft cocktails. Popular menu items include Peking Duck Quesadilla, Pad Thai, Crispy Whole Fish, Chili-Garlic Pig (pork belly), and Braised Pork Ramen.
According to its website, “At Sense of Thai, our dishes are inspired by the bold and spicy flavors of Southern Thailand, where our Chef Owner Porntipa Pattanamekar is from. Known for its vibrant fusion of Eastern and Western influences, Southern Thai cuisine features unique ingredients like fresh seafood, aromatic herbs, and robust spices.”
While an official opening date has not yet been announced, late 2025 remains a possibility.
