The event will feature collaborative dishes created by top regional chefs and Best Buddies Sous Chefs, with proceeds supporting programs that promote inclusion and opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Per the news release: “Best Buddies will host its annual Homecoming: Two Parties One Purpose Gala on Friday, October 24th at 6 PM at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center. The event promises to be a feast for the senses and a celebration of inclusion, friendship, and leadership.
Guests will savor an extraordinary culinary experience featuring tasting stations from some of the region’s top chefs, each paired with a Best Buddies Sous Chef to create one-of-a-kind dishes that blend flavor, creativity, and heart. The evening showcases how every bite tells a story of friendship and inclusion.
Participating restaurants include Carmines, Silver & Sons, Stellina Pizzeria, Taco Bamba, Harvey’s, Lebanese Taverna, Aventino, Elena James, The Salt Line, TCMA, and Electric Bull, each creating dishes in partnership with a Best Buddies Sous Chef.
The gala will honor Champions who have spent weeks raising critical funds and awareness to create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The evening will culminate with the crowning of the 2025 Champion of the Year.
What makes this gala unique are the Chef x Best Buddies Sous Chef pairings. In the weeks leading up to the event, chefs and their Best Buddies Sous Chefs team up to plan menus and serve side by side on gala night. These partnerships create not only an extraordinary culinary experience but also meaningful opportunities to break down barriers and open doors to inclusion.”
