Concentra Opens in Gaithersburg

Concentra has opened a new occupational medicine center at 733 S. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg’s Walnut Hill Shopping Center.

The nearly 10,000 square foot facility replaces the company’s former location on Russell Avenue, about one mile away. The center features updated technology and expanded clinical space, including modern digital X-ray equipment, additional exam rooms, and space for the full care team on one floor.

According to the company, the new clinic is designed to help reduce wait times and serve a greater number of patients. In addition to occupational health services such as drug screenings and treatment for workplace injuries, the center will offer on-site orthopedic specialist hours, FAA exams, travel health exams, and immigration services. Concentra also provides physical therapy and workplace wellness programs aimed at supporting employer health and safety needs.

A grand opening lunch reception and ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, November 6 at noon. Speakers will include Concentra Senior Vice President of Operations Maiya LaVerdure, Concentra Director of Medical Dr. Sean Duffy, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson, Gaithersburg Mayor Jud Ashman, Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce President Angela Franco, and Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce President Paula Ross.

Concentra currently operates 13 medical centers across Maryland, serving Baltimore City as well as Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Cecil, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George’s counties. The company serves as the State of Maryland’s medical director and occupational medicine provider.
