Sweeteria, the popular Silver Spring dessert café, has opened its new location at 7525 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. The café moves into a space previously occupied by St. Arnold’s Mussel Bar, Tyber Bierhaus, and Thimian Thai.
Sweeteria is operated by Ditlada Wichaidit and Soranan Karikarn, the husband-and-wife team who also own Kao Thai Restaurant on Colesville Road. The pair opened the original Sweeteria next door to Kao Thai in October 2020. Bethesda Magazine was the first to report the Bethesda opening.
According to the restaurant’s website, Sweeteria is a family-owned dessert café influenced by Thailand’s colorful and playful dessert culture. Its menu includes pastries, savory toasts, inventive desserts, teas, coffees, and specialty drinks, offering a Thai-inspired dessert experience in Montgomery County.
