Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a single-family home fire on Beaver Terrace in Aspen Hill on Monday after multiple 911 callers reported a house and rear deck on fire shortly before 2:45 p.m.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire and crews reported significant damage to the home. All occupants were able to escape safely, and no injuries were reported. At least one adult, one child, and a dog have been displaced as a result of the fire. Crews continued working in extremely cold conditions, with temperatures reported in the teens to around 20 degrees. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
