A single-vehicle crash occurred Saturday morning on the southbound I-270 ramp to Montgomery Village Avenue in Gaithersburg, sending a car off the roadway and into an icy pond.
According to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Pete Piringer, both occupants of the vehicle were able to self-extricate prior to the arrival of emergency crews. No injuries were reported.
MCFRS units A708B, RS729, and PE708 were on scene, along with assistance from the Maryland State Highway Administration. A reason for the crash was not provided by officials.
