Bitez, a restaurant specializing in halal cuisine, has closed the location it opened in July at 13525 Clopper Road in Germantown’s Seneca Plaza, near Mamma Lena and Rio Grande. The restaurant has shared that it plans to move to a new nearby location in the future, but an address or date is not yet available.
Bitez offers a menu that includes chicken over rice, lamb gyro over rice, falafel over rice, pita wraps, salads, desserts, and drinks.
According to signage posted on the door of the previous location, and dated December 21, 2025, the landlord has taken possession of the space and changed the locks. The notice states that anyone attempting to enter the space will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
On its website, Bitez described itself as having launched in 2023 with a focus on halal cuisine made using halal-certified ingredients. The restaurant said its mission was to blend traditional halal flavors with modern culinary techniques while serving as a cultural bridge for the community.
Bitez also states that it uses Zabihah Halal meat prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary guidelines, emphasizing adherence to halal principles in its food preparation.
