Maryland Governor Wes Moore announced the launch of the Maryland Apprenticeship Incentive Program, a $5 million initiative designed to help employers hire and train registered apprentices.
Funded through the Registered Apprenticeship Investment for a Stronger Economy Act of 2025, the program offers financial support to offset training and recruitment costs, providing up to $3,000 per adult apprentice and $7,500 per high school age apprentice for eligible employers.
State officials said the funding is intended to reduce barriers for businesses, particularly small employers, and expand access to apprenticeship opportunities across Maryland. The announcement follows the administration’s recent milestone of engaging more than 500 employers statewide and supporting more than 5,200 new registered apprentices, as the state continues to promote apprenticeships as a pathway to workforce development and long term economic growth.
