What sets it apart isn’t just the ingredients, but the fact that people who don’t eat vegan keep showing up anyway. Mr. 8 That made the trip out to College Park, MD to get a taste of the cookies that everyone’s been talking about.
Mr. 8 That rates every restaurant using two simple categories: price and taste, each scored on a scale of 1-5. Add the two scores together, and if a restaurant reaches a total of 8 or higher, it officially “8 that.”
MidnighTreats sells cookies in a variety of sizes, as well as donuts, plant-based milk teas and milkshakes. They have locations in College Park, MD as well as Reston, Arlington and Alexandria in Virginia.
Mr. 8 That: “The monster cookies were similar in size to what you’d get at a Crumbl or Insomnia. All of the cookies had a nice firm, slightly crispy exterior, with a soft satisfying bite through the middle. Of the monster cookies, I preferred the Birthday Bash over the Coconut Caramel. Of the minis, I really enjoyed the brownie cookie, and the regular chocolate chip. I thoroughly enjoyed these, and even forgot they were vegan cookies while I was eating them.”
During his visit, Mr. 8 That tried the Birthday Bash and Coconut Caramel monster cookies. He also tried the Brownie, Chocolate Chip and Snickerdoodle of the munchie size. He gave the flavor a 4.2 and the price a 4.3 leading to a total score of 8.5, meaning MidnighTreats definitely 8 that!
