The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is hosting its annual “Heads Up, Phones Down” video contest, inviting Montgomery County high school students to create 30-second public service announcements encouraging people to stay alert and avoid phone use while driving or walking.
The contest is open to public and private high school students, with entries accepted in English or Spanish from individuals or groups of up to four students through Saturday, February 28.
Students can earn prizes worth up to $800 and receive up to five Student Service Learning hours for participating. Winning entries will be selected in individual and group categories, and the videos will be shared on MCDOT’s Safe Routes to School website in March.
