KaFean Koffee Closes

KaFean Koffee has closed its location at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The coffee shop had operated from a lower-level kiosk at the mall, in the space previously occupied by Moorenko’s.

KaFean Koffee specialized in espresso drinks and pastries and served as one of several coffee options at the mall, alongside Starbucks and Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe. In recent months, the business had expanded its menu to include items such as freshly made waffles.

Earlier this week, Tato’s opened at Montgomery Mall in the space previously occupied by 7-Eleven and later Chocolate Moonshine. The potato-focused dining concept first launched last year at Commas Food Hall at Ellsworth Place in downtown Silver Spring. The restaurant will hold its official grand opening on Saturday, February 7, with prizes, discounts, and special promotions.

The news of KaFean Koffee’s closure was first reported by Robert Dyer.
