UPDATE: The child in the accidental shooting on Maple Leaf Drive has been pronounced dead.
Montgomery County Police are investigating a reported accidental shooting involving a child in Montgomery Village.
According to officials, officers with the Montgomery County Police Department and personnel from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services were dispatched at approximately 2:45 pm Tuesday to the 10100 block of Maple Leaf Drive following a report of an accidental shooting. First responders remained on the scene as of the latest update. No additional details about injuries or circumstances have been released.
Authorities have not yet provided further information as the investigation remains ongoing. MCPS provided a 3:27pm update stating the PIO was enroute to Maple Leaf Drive and a media staging area will be determined once PIO arrives.
