While some will argue that Columbia, MD technically isn’t part of the DMV, this food truck taqueria is putting it’s money where it’s mouth is and serving up some of the best birria in the area. DMV Taqueria is in Yelp’s Top 100 places to eat in the US, and it’s there for a good reason. Their staple is the halal birria, but they serve other Mexican and Puerto Rican inspired plates.
Mr. 8 That recently visited the food truck which location varies, but can usually be found out in Columbia, MD. Mr. 8 That rates every restaurant using two simple categories: price and taste, each scored on a scale of 1-5. Add the two scores together, and if a restaurant reaches a total of 8 or higher, it officially “8 that.”
DMV Taqueria specializes in halal birria, along with tacos, burritos, loaded fries and much more! Mr. 8 That: “The depth of flavor on the birria was intense, you definitely got those accenting spices and seasonings with every bite. The tacos had a crispy shell to compliment the soft tender birria, and the amount of complimenting ingredents with the Oaxaca cheese and cilantro helped balance out each bite. The fries retained their texture, were seasoned well, and the sauce helped tame some of the spice. The burrito had classic ingredients and flavors, wrapped in a melted cheese blanket that took it a step above the rest.”
During his visit, Mr. 8 That tried the Loaded Birria Fries, Birria Tacos and a Classic Chicken Burrito. He gave the flavor a 4.4 and the price a 4.0, leading to a final score of 8.4.
