PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is continuing progress on its second Montgomery County location, sharing a photo of its interior construction on February 17 with the caption, “Gaithersburg, progress is happening. Construction is underway, and this space is really starting to take shape. We’re excited to bring PJ’s Coffee to the neighborhood soon!”
The new location is part of the North Pointe at Flower Hill development, a 16,000-square-foot retail and restaurant center at 18251 Flower Hill Way, located behind the shopping center that includes Gentleman Jim’s. In November, Maryland Newsletters reported that the company had secured a $200,000 construction permit, with the shop expected to open in early 2026. PJ’s Coffee was among the first tenants announced for the redevelopment, which was first announced in December 2024.
Founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan, PJ’s Coffee is rooted in New Orleans coffee culture and emphasizes high-quality beans and roasting methods. The brand uses Arabica beans and offers a menu that includes hot, iced, and frozen coffee drinks, organic teas, and breakfast pastries.
The Gaithersburg café will become the company’s second location in Montgomery County, joining its existing shop in Silver Spring at 8621 Georgia Avenue, Suite A-2.
