Schools Closed, County Offices Open Under Liberal Leave Policy Monday

Montgomery County Government will open Monday, February 23, with optional unscheduled or liberal leave for non-essential employees, while residents are advised to check ahead for possible weather-related closures. Montgomery County Public Schools will be closed, recreation and senior programs will be limited or canceled, recycling and trash collection will proceed as scheduled, and the County’s 311 call center will operate regular hours.

Per Montgomery County: “Montgomery County Government will open on Monday, Feb. 23, with optional unscheduled/liberal leave for non-essential County employees. Residents are encouraged to call government facilities or check websites before visiting to ensure there has not been an unforeseen closure due to weather impact.

Montgomery County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, Feb. 23. Because of the closure, all scheduled Recreation programs, classes, and activities are canceled.

Additional Recreation changes:

  • Recreation, senior, and aquatic centers will open at 9 a.m. (or their regularly scheduled opening hours if later than 9 a.m.) for drop-in activities only.
  • Senior transportation and senior nutrition programs are canceled.

County-provided recycling and refuse collection services will be provided as scheduled today, Monday, Feb. 23.  Please set out containers no later than 7:00 a.m.
