Shoppers at Westfield Montgomery in Bethesda will notice large “Entire Store 30 to 60 percent off” and “Store Closing” signs posted outside Francesca’s, as the women’s boutique begins liquidating inventory ahead of its permanent closure.
A representative at the Montgomery Mall location confirmed the store plans to close within the next two months as part of a nationwide shutdown. The Bethesda store is the last remaining Francesca’s location in Montgomery County.
More than 20 years after opening its first store in Houston, Texas, Francesca’s is preparing to close all of its stores across the country, according to reporting by Women’s Wear Daily. The company is currently liquidating merchandise in-store and online, where it is advertising a “last chance warehouse sale” with clearance items priced at fifteen dollars and under. Francesca’s operates nine locations in Maryland, all of which are expected to close. In Montgomery County, previous locations at Rio, Pike and Rose, and Bethesda Row closed within the past five years.
