Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the Balducci’s parking lot at 10323 Old Georgetown Road near Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda’s Wildwood Shopping Center on Friday for a vehicle fire involving a hybrid car battery.
According to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer, the vehicle’s battery ignited or malfunctioned, causing the fire. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and HazMat units assisted on scene. No injuries were reported.
