Montgomery County’s Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) will recognize National Consumer Protection Week from Sunday, March 1 through Saturday, March 7 with a series of outreach and education efforts aimed at helping residents avoid scams and make informed purchasing decisions.
Activities will include daily consumer protection tips shared on social media, a special episode of the Consumer Connection podcast on Tuesday, March 3 discussing how consumer protection efforts have evolved, and the launch of a new monthly newsletter with updates and alerts for residents.
OCP will also host a community forum from 10:30 am to noon on Thursday, March 5 at Rockville Memorial Library, where residents can discuss consumer concerns and share feedback. Officials say the week highlights the office’s ongoing work investigating complaints, enforcing consumer protection laws, and helping residents affected by fraud or unfair business practices. Residents who believe they have been impacted by scams or deceptive practices can contact OCP or file a complaint through the county’s consumer protection office.
